Day -5

The drugs are starting to take some effect. Our bubbly, energetic child is slowing down, getting a bit fussy with maybe some nausea and increasing diarrhea. But she’s still doing well. Today was the beginning of chemo drug #2 called Cytoxin. It’s a pretty powerful one and can be irritating to the bladder. So they are giving her extra diuretics to make sure her system flushes. We have to change her diaper every two hours!

She had an EKG today as a baseline. The drugs she’ll have next week can affect the heart and they want a picture of what she looks like now.

Dennis went home tonight and Chloe was a little sad, as was I, but the days are busy and he’ll be back soon.
