Day -2
Dennis arrived early this morning and both girls were very happy to see him. Each time he comes, he brings clean laundry and loads more stuff that I have requested to make our lives easier and more like home here.
Today is the last day of drug #2 Cytoxin. It will be good to have that over with. It’s a very nasty one. Chloe got a bath bright and early this morning after destroying her bed and an outfit that was brand new! Even though we use two diapers and waterproof pads, it goes everywhere. So the days pass very quickly with all this maintenance. Because of the fever last night, they’ve added another antibiotic to the regimen. She is currently taking four different antibiotics, anti-nausea, two anti-allergy meds, two diuretics, and two anti-rejection meds. And then there’s the occasional pain killer or extra nausea meds. She is also having tests done to see if any of the IV lines are infected. One test came back positive early on and they are being very cautious to make sure it was a false positive.
Chloe slept well, but we were constantly awakened by the IV pump. The beeper is always going off indicating something is finished or there’s a problem. Not much sleep.
