Day -3

Today was a big day. In addition to the Cytoxin, we added a third chemo drug called ATG. This one can have a lot of side effects and allergic reactions so we have to watch Chloe closely. She had a low grade fever during the day but otherwise did OK. She is definitely slowing down, obviously not feeling very well, and still having vomiting and diarrhea.

This evening Chloe came down with a fever of 104. Because of all the other medications she is on, they can’t give her anything for the fever. So I stayed up with her, using the old-fashioned ice cold washcloth technique and after a few hours her fever went down and she could sleep some. Later she woke in significant discomfort, probably related to teething, and cried inconsolably for about 2 hours. It was a long night.
